LandStar's Seeding/Lawn Repair Services

Think of seeding as renovation for your lawn. Just as you can give your home new life by remodeling certain areas of the house, you can also breathe new life into your lawn by touching up rough patches to update its looks.  Seeding is used to repair a damaged lawn, and the type pf seeding will depend on the extent of damage to your turf.  Installation of a new lawn is not always the only option if you’re having lawn trouble, and this is where seeding comes in.  Only a qualified lawn care professional will be able to determine whether seeding will bring the lush green color and carpet-like thickness of your lawn back, or whether it needs to be killed, and a new lawn installed.

Our lawn care experts wild ermine what state of deterioration your lawn is in, and what type of seeding process will work best to bring back its glory.  The exact same process will not work for all lawns in all areas of the state. Different kinds of damage require different seeding processes. For instance, if your lawn is thin, or has a few minor patch repair issues, then the lawn care professionals at LandStar services can plan the right kind of seeding procedure for your turf.

We make use of only high quality seed to give you the beautiful results you desire.

Lawn Seeding or Repair Advice, Tips & Ideas

There are various seeding processes that can be used to fix your lawn.  If you want to touch up a few areas on your lawn that are beginning to get bare, for instance, near your driveway where there is heavy use of your lawn, then spot seeding works best to fix up bald spots.  Here, a small section of the lawn surface is broken, high quality seed is applied to the soil, and blended in well.

In the case of a thin lawn that has a sparse look overall, a process called over seeding is used. This work best when combined with core aeration of the lawn. Here, the seed is spread across a wider area, using a seed spreader. The aeration reduces soil compaction, and minimizes thatch built up.

If your lawn has been gravely damaged by disease or insects, then slice seeding may be the only option.  In this method, furrows are dug into the soil and the seeds are sowed directly into the soil.  What this does is ensure optimum contact between the soil and seeds, which is not possible when you simply spread the seeds around the lawn.

Whatever the method used, watering of the lawn is an important factor in its success. Remember to water the newly seeded areas not just often, but also using the right amount of weather.  If the seeding has been done correctly, then you will see the results a few days later in the form of a gloriously green, thickly carpeted turf in your yard!
